These days, eating and drinking don't include your favorite drinks like coffee and
green tea. But this is not always the case. With a little planning and a lot of
discipline, your diet and weight loss routine can include your morning cup of
coffee or green tea for weight loss.
South Beach Diet Plan
In the opinion of Dr. Agatston, the creator of the South Beach Diet plan, the South
Beach Diet plan is neither low carb nor low fat. According to its author, the South
Beach Diet plan "teaches you to depend on the right amount of carbs and fats."
This diet plan consists of three steps - banishing your hunger, restoring
carbohydrates, and eating a healthy diet for life. Using artificial sweeteners and
skim milk in your coffee or green tea during the three stages is one way to
continue losing weight without leaving your brewed cup of coffee. If you choose
coffee reaching for decaffeinated to eliminate caffeine can also be a good idea
since the purpose of this diet is to maintain an even insulin level. You have less to
worry about if you are a green tea drinker. Green tea contains little caffeine.
The Zone Diet Plan
The Zone Diet Plan was developed by Barry Sears, a former biotechnology
researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This diet is based on
maintaining consistent insulin levels while being known as an anti-inflammatory
diet. Since this diet plan also deals with insulin control, any issues that arise are
addressed in the South Beach diet plan. Drinking decaffeinated coffee and green
tea is fine as long as these drinks don't raise your insulin. The zone diet plan
suggests you use artificial sweeteners and milk (low fat) of course in your green
tea and coffee.
Blood Type Diet Plan
A blood type diet plan is a weight loss diet where the foods you eat are based on
your blood type. The blood type diet plan is more restrictive than the South Beach
Diet Plan, The Zone Diet Plan, and the Atkins Diet Plan. For example, strong
coffee is recommended for people with blood types A and AB. But for people with
blood type O, adding coffee to the blood type diet should be avoided. Green teas,
on the other hand, are acceptable for all blood types. However, adding natural
sweeteners such as sugar, honey, stevia or maple syrup to green tea should be
avoided in this diet.
Sugar Busters Diet
The name of the diet is a dead giveaway - Sugar Busters Diet. Those who partake
in this diet plan are strongly warned against sugar. Coffee and green teas are
delicious but only use artificial sweeteners.
The Atkins Diet
Another low-carb diet, the Atkins diet, works best with decaffeinated coffee and
green tea. For best results, it is advisable to use artificial sweeteners and green
tea in your coffee to reduce carbohydrates.
Paleolithic Diet Plan
Also called the Stone Age Diet, this diet was based on eating simple, unprocessed
foods that our early neanderthal ancestors would have eaten. This diet plan is a
perfect choice for green tea drinkers. Green tea is made from the 100% steam-
dried leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. If you are a coffee lover, you may have
a tough decision to make since you are recommended to forgo coffee with the
paleo diet plan. Sugars in green teas are off-limits, especially the refined types.
With the many options available to help you with your diet, enjoying the benefits of
green tea is a great place to start. Green tea can be used to lose weight, so burn
those extra pounds easily while sipping on your favorite drink. READ MORE
